Accessibility Policy

Our Commitment

MedNext Academy is committed to making its platform accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We believe that every medical student and professional should be able to access quality education resources without barriers.

We are actively working to ensure that www.mednext.academy conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, in accordance with international best practices.

Our Accessibility Features

Visual Accessibility

  • High-contrast text for readability
  • Scalable text — all fonts respond to browser zoom without breaking layouts
  • Alt text on all informational images (diagrams, clinical photos, etc.)
  • Colour is never the sole means of conveying information
  • Content does not rely on colour alone to indicate correct/incorrect MCQ answers

Navigation

  • Full keyboard navigation support throughout the Platform
  • Logical tab order across interactive elements
  • Visible focus indicators on all focusable elements
  • Skip-to-content link at the top of each page

Audio and Video

  • All video lectures include accurate captions / subtitles
  • Audio lectures include downloadable transcripts
  • Media players have accessible controls

Cognitive Accessibility

  • Simplified explanation mode on all MCQs — plain language for users who find technical language difficult to process
  • Clear, consistent page layouts and navigation
  • Progress indicators on exams and study sessions
  • No flashing content that could trigger photosensitive conditions

Ongoing Work

We are actively working on:

  • Improving screen reader compatibility across all interactive components
  • Adding ARIA labels to dynamic content (quiz timers, live leaderboard updates)
  • Enhanced captions and sign language overlays for key video content
  • Accessibility audit of the mobile-responsive experience

Known Issues

We are aware of the following accessibility limitations and are working to resolve them:

  • Some interactive diagram elements (3D anatomy models) currently lack full keyboard/screen reader support
  • Some dynamically generated MCQ explanations may not always be announced correctly by all screen readers

If you encounter an accessibility issue not listed here, please tell us — we take all reports seriously.

Assistive Technology Support

MedNext Academy has been tested with:

  • Screen readers: NVDA (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android)
  • Browser zoom: Up to 200% without loss of content
  • Keyboard-only navigation: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge
